Lying on the Washington / Idaho border, 49 Degree North has been continually voted as the region's best family resort and offers some great skiing for everyone. This traditional Northwest resort which first opened its doors in the 1930s is home to wide-open groomed pistes, mogul fields, powder skiing and loads of tree-lined runs.
Although there are only six lifts, they give you a 560 metre vertical and a longest run of 4.4 kilometres. Unusually there are many more blacks than intermediate runs. There are also a couple of terrain parks and floodlight slopes.
There is no specific skiing hotel nearby, but there are a couple of opportunities for apartment and chalet rentals. The resort also boasts 10 kilometres of cross-country trails.
