Afton Alps Ski Resort is located in the snowy town of Afton, Minnesota. Afton Alps is a great ski resort for groups of skiers that have a range of abilities. It is one of the largest resorts located in the Midwest of the United States.
There are 300 skiable areas and there is also a snow tubing area. With 48 trails serviced by 18 chair lifts and 3 conveyor lifts, there is rarely a wait to ski at Afton Alps. The trails are rated from beginner to expert.
There is snow making capabilities for all of the trails at Afton Alps. They are also one of the few North American resorts that have all trails available for night skiing. This is lauded by skiers as it increases their time o the slopes.
The ski school is reasonably priced and the instructors are highly trained experts. They can teach all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Even though the rates are inexpensive, if you rent your ski equipment there, you automatically get a free hour long ski lesson.
Afton Alps presently has only one terrain park however they are working on several others. The existing park has several rails and boxes for people to enjoy while increasing their skills.
There is a wide variety of lodging options in the area ranging from chains to small motels. Restaurants and bars are readily found in the area so there is plenty to do après ski.
