Alyeska Ski Resort is one of the premier ski resorts in all of Alaska. Although there is snow making capabilities, the average snowfall is a whopping 643 inches per year at the mountain top.
There are 73 total runs at Alyeska with 1,400 skiable acres. The terrain is divided into eleven percent of the runs being beginner level, fifty-two percent are suitable for intermediates and thirty-seven percent are designated for advanced and expert skiers. Nine lifts including a sixty passenger aerial tram can move 10,335 people per hour. There is rarely a wait at Alyeska Ski Resort. Heli and cat skiing is also available at an additional charge.
The day lodge offers a wide variety of light meals and beverages. They do not offer any alcoholic beverages. The prices are a little higher than most ski cafeterias but the portions are bigger than usual.
The Hotel Alyeska is a beautiful and luxurious hotel with amenities galore. The rooms are decorated tastefully and with great attention to detail. The in room coffeemakers are stocked with Starbuck’s coffee. There are heated towel racks in the bathrooms. The whirlpool, pool and fitness center will keep guests happy when they are off the slopes. Room service is available from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM daily.
Après ski activities are available at Hotel Alyeska and in neighboring areas. There are restaurants and cocktail lounges within the resort that will surely please the most discriminating of guests.
