Arctic Valley Ski Resort is a great not for profit, volunteer staffed and run snow area. There are 27 groomed trails at the resort which cover five hundred acres. Five runs are designed for beginner skiers. There are a dozen trails that are designated for those of intermediate level abilities. Ten advanced skill trails will keep the experienced skier or rider quite happy.
Priding themselves on being a very family friendly ski area, Arctic Valley Ski Resort is a really safe area. This resort has that backcountry feel. Skiers are still kept safe because the area is controlled by the ski patrol. The resort is never crowded which makes for more skiing and less waiting time. It is only opened on weekends and for merely a few hours at that. The skiing however, it is really great as it is always fresh powder. There is no snow making facilities at Arctic Valley Ski Resort so they depend completely on good, old Mother Nature.
There is lodging available in the area but not onsite. Restaurants and bars are plentiful nearby. Some bars do have pool tables but that is essentially all of the après ski opportunities when enjoying the snow at Arctic Valley Ski Resort.
