Located in the Coconino National Forrest, the Arizona Snow Bowl is a winter wonderland for snow lovers of all ages. There is about 260 inches of snowfall annually and has 2,300 feet of vertical drop. It is one of the oldest continuously opened ski areas in the United States as it started welcoming guests in 1938. There are four lifts that service the thirty-two runs at the bowl.
The ski school is amazing. The instructors are highly trained and certified. They work well with both children and adults. The coolest thing is that if you rent the equipment and purchase a lift ticket, you get a free one hour lesson! The rentals and lift tickets are very reasonably priced to begin with. This policy makes for a sweet deal as the instructors teach skiers and riders of all abilities.
Although there is no lodging available in the national forest, nearby facilities at the base of the mountain will provide a variety of options. Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, theaters, and other après ski activities abound in Flagstaff.
