Auron Saint-Etienne-de-Tinee Mercantour Mountains, France

This resort is well-known because it is close to Nice and is located in the Mercantour Mountains. Its exceptional snow cover and the extensive practice area on its 130km of marked trails account for its popularity. The pistes go between larch trees, and through the snow park the black Olympic trail makes high-speed runs possible. The very friendly atmosphere of the resort only increases its popularity.

With a minimum and maximum altitude of 1,140m and 2,450 m, Auron has 42 slopes with 2 green ones, 16 blue ones, 15 red ones, and 9 black ones. Total slope length is 135km and the maximum vertical drop is 1,312m. It has 7 tow lifts, 8 chair lifts, and 3 cable cars.

There is a daycare center as well as a snow play center for children. In addition, there is a skating rink. With three 3-star hotels, two 2-star hotels, 2 1-star hotels and an unrated one, there are an abundance of rooms. In addition, homes and cottages may be rented for single or family occupancy. The airport and train station at Nice provide shuttle service.
