This is a small mountain town in the Alps, located on the western fringe. Home to the French Nordic Skiing Championships, in 1968, Olympic events took place here. There’s also an annual race of up to 10,000 cross-country skiers. In addition, there is ski jumping, dog sledding, and ice skating. There is one black run, 5 red ones, 3 blue ones, and 6 green ones with 18km in downhill trails. Cross country trails comprise 160km.
The maximum vertical is 600m and the highest of the 16 lifts is 1,650m. The altitude of the resort is 1,650m and the lowest trail is 1,050m. Snow boarding is good here and there is a snow park. There are bed and breakfasts in Autrans in addition to hotels and chalets.
