The skiing resort of Baile Govora is set amidst the
Romanian spa town of Baile Govora in the county Valcea. The area enjoys a cool summer and mild winter, and at an altitude of 360-380m, and the area does enjoy regular snowfall during ski season.
The resort itself is fairly small and intimate, with a number of ski runs to enjoy, suited particularly to the individual or small groups. The runs range in difficulty, however they seem better for the intermediate to advanced levels.
The area is not famously known for its skiing, rather its therapeutic benefits granted by its mineral springs. A number of other sports can be enjoyed in the area, including tennis and football for those days when you want some downtime.
There are a number of comfortable and stylish guesthouses and hotels in the area, all reasonably priced with many offering discounted stay during the ski season.
