Balea Lac is a high altitude (2053m) ski resort in the Carpathian Mountains, and very popular with snowboarding competitions. With two ski runs and two lifts this is a small resort but enjoys a long ski season due to the high mountains and guaranteed snow.
A cable car from the Balea Cascades takes skiers to the runs. Off piste and cross country skiing is available in Balea Lac.
