Skiing at Bear Paw Ski Bowl is like stepping back in time. This old fashioned resort is completely run and staffed by a group of friendly volunteers. Lift tickets are very inexpensive. For a mere twenty dollars, people can ski or ride all day. Children under eight years of age ski free. Bear Paw is only open for skiing and riding on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no night skiing.
There are 24 trails at Bear Paw Ski Bowl. About one quarter are beginner level runs, one quarter are set for intermediate skiers and half of the terrain is designated for advanced to expert level skiers and riders. One double lift and one handle tow service the area. With a vertical drop of 900 feet, the longest run at Bear Paw is one half mile long.
Lodging is available in Havre. There are chain hotels as well as small independently owned motels. Dining options are plentiful in the area. There are fast food joints, cafes, family style places and fine dining establishments. There are quite a few sports bars for après ski fun. The bowling alley and movie theater also provide entertainment once the slopes are closed for the evening.
