Bear Valley Mountain Ski Area has nearly thirteen hundred skiable acres and 1,900 feet of vertical drop. Nine lifts keep the ski traffic moving swiftly. There are 67 trails. 25 percent of the runs are slated for beginners, 40 percent are perfect for intermediate skiers and riders while 35 percent is terrain for the most advanced enthusiasts.
The cross country skiing at Bear Valley Mountain Ski Area is phenomenal. There are 35 trails that range from terrain for new, beginner skiers to expert trails. All have breathtaking views and points of interest. It is important not to cross country ski alone at Bear Valley as they do not do a nightly sweep for any lost skiers.
Sledding, snowmobiling and snowshoeing are also available activities at Bear Valley Mountain Ski Area.
The Bear Valley Lodge is reasonably priced considering it is right on the mountain. There are several ski and stay packages which make staying there even more affordable. Guests at the Lodge also receive a complimentary continental breakfast. There are several dining options slope side from fine dining to typical bar and grill fare. The Grizzly Bar sees an incredible influx of skiers and riders once the lifts close down for the night.
