Big Bear Mountain Ski Resorts is a combination of two areas within one resort. The two areas are Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. Both areas have complete snow making capabilities which ensure that guests are able to ski or ride all trails at the resorts. There is a free shuttle for guests to ride between the two ski areas.
Snow Summit boasts a vertical drop of 1,200 feet and top elevation of 8,200 feet. There are 240 skiable acres hosting 31 trails. The trails are 10 percent created for brand new beginner skiers and boarders, 65 percent are mixed between low intermediate and intermediate runs and 25 percent are strictly for advanced enthusiasts. There are fourteen lifts servicing the eighteen miles of skiable terrain. The longest trail at Snow Summit is 1 ¼ miles.

There are three terrain parks located in Snow Summit. Fun Zone is a special beginner level park. The terrain features and jibs are designed to give newcomers a taste of what stunts are like while building their confidence. Westridge and Ego Trip Terrain Parks are great for intermediate and advanced enthusiasts.
Bear Mountain has a vertical drop of 1,665 feet on 17 miles for riding. This part of the resort is mostly used by boarders and young people. The terrain is divided up with 15 percent used by new beginners, 15 percent for low level intermediates, 40 percent for intermediate and 30 percent for truly advanced riders. The longest run is 1 ½ miles. There are twelve lifts servicing Bear Mountain.
Lodging and dining are available nearby and options for both are numerous and various. There are many things to do for après ski fun. Bars and nightclubs are plentiful so there are certainly enough offerings to please everyone.
