The Blue Knob Ski Resort has the highest skiable mountain in the state of Pennsylvania. It boasts a vertical drop of 1,072 feet. There are 34 trails of varied terrains. Twenty percent of the trails are dedicated to beginners. 35 percent are intermediate runs and another 35 percent are strictly advanced trails. Lastly, ten percent are the most difficult expert only runs.
There are a wide variety of trails and terrain available for cross country skiing. Some trails are groomed while others are not. NASTAR racing is available on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season. It is inexpensive and every skier takes home a medal. There is a three lane snow tubing area available for a reasonable fee.
Lodging is available at the resort by way of condos. They are not much more expensive than the usual chain motel prices. The condos are right on the mountain and many different options are available for them. Dining options are plentiful on and off the slopes. There are numerous bars and lounges to satiate everyone’s après ski need for fun. Most have live entertainment on weekends.
