Brezovica is an emerging ski centre in Kosovo recovering after the recent war and after declaring independence in 2008. It has five slopes and is located on Mount Sar. Two chair lifts operate in this resort with a capacity for 1000 skiers per hour, although visitors will find it substantially quieter.
With a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced level ski slopes there is a choice of skiing and snowboarding runs. A further 9 km of cross country skiing trails ensures Brezovica is popular for Nordic skiing. The nearest airports are Skopje and Pristina and there are two hotels in the resort. UN troops remain in the area on observation duties.
