The Buena Vista Ski Area is not only a wonderful, winter wonderland located on the continental divide but a uniquely historic place as well. There are quaint and antique buildings from pioneer days in the village. This is a small resort with loads of charm.
With a vertical drop of 230 feet and 30 skiable acres, it is small in size but huge on being family friendly. With an average of about 80 inches of snowfall per year, Buena Vista has 100 percent snowmaking capabilities because of their excellent snowmaking equipment.
There are 16 groomed trails at Buena Vista Ski Area. There are 2 beginner trails, 9 slopes for intermediates and 5 runs that are for advanced skiers and riders only. The longest run is a little more than a 1/3 mile long. All of the trails are available for night skiing. 4 lifts serve the area.
There are 25 kilometers available for cross country skiers to enjoy. Trails are of various terrains. The area has scenic views and is beautiful to the eye. Snow tubing is also available at Buena Vista Ski Resort.
Lodging and dining options are nearby. The local pubs are the hot spots for après ski activities. It is generally a quiet area but the bars are full of evening fun.
