In winter, when the weather permits, Cairngorm gets many weeks of perfect ski conditions. At other times, South-eastern gales may bring too much snow and high pressure conditions with days of horizontal rain and snow storms. Timing is the key in enjoying this remarkable resort. People travelling to this area can easily get accommodations in the village of Aviemore and the surrounding areas.
Cairngorm is spread out over an incredible area of 2086 acres of land on the breathtaking slopes of the Cairngorms National Park. The summit is 1097 metres and the vertical drop is about 548 metres.
There are 36 trails/runs/pistes rated Beginners – 30%, Intermediate – 40% and Advanced – 30%. There are 2 chair lifts, 13 surface lifts and a funicular (incline) railway. Activities here include skiing, snowboarding, Freestyle, Racing and Backcountry skiing. Courses are available here for all activities.
A terrain park is included in this resort along with 60 km of land for cross country skiing. For visitors and their families, there are twenty restaurants and twenty five bars.
