Calimanesti sits in the Valcea County of southern
Romania, and is a stunning location surrounded by numerous mountains and hills. Traditionally known as a spa town, Calimanesti features several thermal springs and a number of alternative therapy outlets.
Calimanesti sits at an altitude of 260m, and enjoys snowfall typically between December to March. The resort itself is small, best suited to low numbers of people skiing at relatively the same level of expertise. The runs range from
intermediate to advanced, however
beginners won’t be out of their depth on the smaller runs.
The accommodation choices in the area range from hotels to guesthouses and lodges, all of reasonable price and value. There are also a number of varied restaurants and cafes for you to enjoy whilst taking some time away from the slopes, however you need not be limited to skiing whilst visiting Calimanesti, as there are also spa treatments, tourist attractions and hiking trails for you to enjoy.
