Campo Imperatore is situated in the Apennine region of Italy. It is a small tourist resort, having only 4 ski lifts: 1 gondola, 1 chair lift and 2 surface lifts. There is a 350 meters vertical descent, using the ski lifts. L’Aquila is the nearest station and at Rome is located the nearest airport. In addition, Gran Sasso, Campo Felice and Ovidoli are the nearest ski resorts in the area. Calling Campo Imperatore is a “stretch”. Hotels are located only on the lower levels, and it is hard to reach the high levels from here.
There are not too many bars, restaurants, or even hotels in the area. It is better to find accommodation in other areas.
