Candanchu is set in the center of the wonderful Aragorn Pyrenees. Actually, it is located at the mouth of the Aragorn River. It is one of the oldest Spanish ski resorts, dating back to 1928. Even today it remains one of the most advanced tourist resorts. There are 53 north facing downhill slopes between 1530 and 2400 meters elevation.
Candanchu has an excellent mix of slopes for beginners, but also for intermediate and advanced skiers. The cross country ski circuits link up with the French ski resort, Le Somport, and provide 34 kilometers of ski trails, most of them between 1600 and 1700 meters altitude. All of them traverse the sunny plateau of Candanchu right into the Pyrenees National Park. Near this tourist destination, there can be seen the Ibon d’Estanes and Ibon d’Ayanet, both glacial lakes.
