Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a true hidden treasure as not many people know about it. The area has an average of 140 inches of snowfall each year. The snowmaking equipment easily blankets 98 percent of the area with fresh powder. Nine lifts service the area.
There are 45 trails accessible to skiers and riders at Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa. Twenty-five percent of the runs are specifically for the use of beginners. Forty-seven percent are dedicated to those of intermediate level. The final twenty-eight percent are strictly for the use of experienced, advanced level snow enthusiasts. More than half of the trails are lighted for night skiing. Night skiing is available every evening from Thanksgiving through April.
The Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa boasts two, multi-faceted terrain parks as well as a super-cross course to keep freestyle skiers and riders happy.
Cross country skiing is very popular at Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa. There are forty kilometers of terrain to enjoy. There are 16 total trails, some of which are illuminated for night skiing. Nine trails are designated for beginners. There are three trails for intermediates and four for advanced cross country skiers. Snow shoeing is available but not allowed on cross country trails.
Lodging is available on the mountain and ranges from hotel rooms to luxury condos and townhomes. The Hamlet Hotel is reasonably prices and in walking distance to the slopes. The rooms are spacious and have two queen beds per room.
There are numerous restaurants in the area. Most are full service facilities. The type of fare varies but most do offer steaks, chops, chicken and burgers.
The Vista Lounge located on the top floor of the lodge is the après ski place to be. This full service bar also offers light fare such as burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. They have après ski drink specials daily.
