Crystal Mountain Ski area, Canada

Among the mammoth Ski areas in British Columbia, there are a few smaller ones that cater to families and fewer numbers of visitors every year.  Crystal Mountain Ski area is one such attraction.

Crystal Mountain which may be reached via Kelowna International Airport is a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing with a vertical of 232 meters (760 ft). The ski area encompasses 65 hectares of pristine wilderness and beautiful landscapes.

The terrain is rated Beginners - 30%, Intermediate – 50% and Expert - 20% for the Black Runs” which are the most difficult ski runs in this location. There are a total of 24 runs and the longest run is around 1600 meters (6000 ft).

The small Terrain park and pipe work will amuse the snowboarders while the Snowshoe enthusiasts investigate the lowers slopes of the mountain for fresh snow. Other activities here for individuals and families include hiking and mountain biking.

We had such a good time at Crystal Mountain! Even though most of the runs are beginner and intermediate levels, the few expert runs are thrilling and great fun. The trails were a tad icy when we were there which made our run even more exciting. The views are wonderful.Even though this is a small ski area when compared to others locally, they move people quite quickly. One staff member told me that they can move fifty people every minute! That's impressive for a resort of this size. All in all, my family had a fun time at Crystal Mountain. Everyone was hospitable and happy to help.
