The Czech Republic skiing

The Czech Republic offers excellent cross-country skiing and plenty of great slopes for beginners. The Czech Republic is located in Central Europe and boasts a great number of ski resorts.

Most of the resorts can be found in the mountains along the borders of the country. The Czech mountains are not as high as the Alps, but still provide sufficient challenge for most skiers. Reliable snowfall can be a problem at the low altitudes of the Czech resorts, but snowmaking machines lend a helping hand.

The majority of the ski resorts is within easy reach of Prague, allowing visitors to combine their skiing holiday with some sightseeing and culture. Prague is a beautiful city and you will not regret taking a break from the slopes for a visit. A skiing holiday in the Czech Republic is good value for money, as food and drinks are still quite cheap. Skiers and boarders looking for a change of scene, or a holiday that consists of more than just skiing, should consider giving the Czech Republic a try.
