Ski reviews

Purgatory at Durango Mountain is a skier's dream. The trails are varied and they have some really great trails for the expert skier. Some of the twists can be tricky. The views are spectacular.

I was shocked that Durango Mountain was empty when we were there. One of the employees informed me that it is always that way. She said it was never crowded! That made the ski trip so much better because there was no wait time. I would highly recommend Durango to everyone because there is something great for all levels to experience. Roseann Lahey

Getting to Durango Mountain Resort is easy by car, or by air. Major US Airlines fly over from Denver and Phoenix Airports. If you are driving, check Mapquest for exact directions. Private jets are serviced too, at Animas Airpark. The Purgatory village is nestled at the center of the Durango Mountain Resort. The village offers a variety of cozy places to stay, shop and dine out. And the views of the surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. There is a big 20-year Master plan renovation going on right now, and some brand new exciting facilities are being developed, such as a town square-style amphitheater, full service day spa and salon, and many more cool stores and restaurants. This is probably one of the top winter vacation resorts in the country. You'll get the best of everything there: beautiful nature, great facilities, and awesome skiing! Silvia Cassidy
