Engleberg sits in the middle of Switzerland and is famous for its 12th century Benedictine Monastery, which is still operational. Engleberg is more of a small town than a village, and boasts some fine Swiss architecture. Located only one hour from Lucerne and 1.5hours from Zurich airport, it is easily accessible by car and also has a good train system. The slopes rise to 2000mteres above the township with two main ski areas, Titlis-Stand and Jochpass, both are above the tree line.

The snow falls and holds well at Engleberg assuring a longer than average ski season. There is a heart stopping black run, on one of the biggest verticals in the Swiss Alps, but most are steep red runs. Beginners are well catered for as are snowboarders with a Terrain Park at Jochpass.
There are 25 lifts and 85km of runs.
Eating is good with over 50 restaurants with most cuisines and budgets catered to.
