The popular and private Faqra Ski Club is in Kfardebian village on the slopes of Jebel Sannine. Visitors here can also enjoy the beauty of the city of Faraya and the Wadi Daraiya and Nahr el-Kalb valley which extends to the Mediterranean Sea. Accommodations may be made in the city of Faraya which is reached in an hour’s drive by taxi or bus from the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Faqra is also known by the name “Faqra Club” and it is one of the world’s first private ski clubs in the area. Established in 1974, the Faqra club has a variety of chalets and beautiful gardens designed to attract ski enthusiasts from all over the world. Accommodations include the first class hotel L’Auberge de Faqra with a fitness area, sauna, tennis courts, squash court and a heated swimming pool for après-ski relaxation.
The operating hours are from 8 AM to 3:39 PM during weekends and from 8 AM to 4:00 PM on weekends.
There are four lifts including 1 chair lift and 3 surface lifts. The longest lift length is 880 metres and the highest lift altitude is 240 metres. The top altitude of the mountain ranges from 1735 metres to 1975 metres. It is located in the most beautiful part of Mount Sannine in Ouyoune El Simane.
There are 8 trails here varying by difficulty from Beginners – 25%, Intermediate – 50% and Advanced – 25%. There is a ski and snowboard equipment rental store located near the slopes of Fakra.
There is a large area of land dedicated to international slalom tracks. Other facilities in this posh ski area include gardens, ponds, the view of the Mediterranean, a Roman Temple as well as a horseback riding area.
Après-ski activities include entertainment at La Boite de Faqra club, Le Panoramique as well as visiting restaurants and pubs in the Faraya Mzaar area.
