Germany, located in Central Europe, may not have the same altitudes as Austria or Switzerland, but still offers a surprising number (well over a hundred) of resorts for skiing and boarding, with the most famous resort being Garmish-Partenkirchen. Germany’s network of lifts connects mountains and villages, bringing you a unique experience and unrivalled variety.

The majority of the resorts is located in the Bavarian Alps, but there are many more, smaller, ski resorts to be found throughout the rest of the country. These smaller areas are often cheaper and less crowded.  

Cross-country skiing is very popular in Germany and the famous Black Forest has over 600 miles of trails for you to explore. Germany offers its visitors a warm atmosphere in picturesque villages, and plenty of activities off ski such as snow shoeing, tobogganing, and sledding. Accommodation is available in all shapes and sizes, including snug and comfortable chalets, modern hotels, and even castles. Après-ski is just as varied as everything else in Germany, with pubs, discos, nightclubs, and casinos.
