With only a fifteen minute drive from downtown Vancouver, 40 year old Grouse Mountain Ski resort is easy to reach. Well-known in this area for its Snow School, Grouse Mountain has encouraged and coached thousands of top class athletes. About one million people visit Grouse Mountain every year. Private lessons for children from the age of three, classes for adults at any age, ski clubs and drop-in lessons help keep the spirit of skiing thriving forcefully in this area.

The terrain park offers three main parks for skiers of all ages and abilities. Paradise Jib Park is the first park to come up early in the season when there is very little snow, but people are ready for fun.  Rookie Terrain park which is below the Screaming Eagle chair lift and offers medium sized obstacles for beginner and intermediate ski enthusiasts. Watch out for the Grand Quicksilver terrain park which is designated for intermediate and advanced skiers only. Nearly 1km in length, it offers numerous line options and endless combinations for skiers who would like to attempt the impossible.

This ski area has a vertical of 384 meters (1260 ft) with 2 high speed quad chairs and 2 quad chairs along with 1 magic carpet. There are 26 runs – 3 for beginner, 15 for intermediate, 6 for expert and 2 for advanced skiers. Night skiing and snowboarding is possible on 13 of the 26 runs. Snowshoeing is feasible on four trails.

 

For families and small children, there is also the Freestyle Terrain park which offers a combination of jumps, hits, ramps, funboxes, embankments, jibs, rails, Half Pipes, Quarter Pipes, Snowcross, freestyle bump and other natural obstacles.

Grouse Mountain is open daily from 9AM – 10PM. Night skiing is allowed from 4PM – 10PM.

Restaurants include Lupins Café, The Observatory Restaurant, Attitudes Bistro, Ground Grind Coffee Bar, Rusty Rail BBQ and Starbucks.
