One of Austria’s most mystical and eerie ski destinations is the resort at Heiligenblut. Along the western portion of Carinthia and nestled in the Hohe Tauern National Park, sits a foggy location situated in the valley. Upon arrival the fog is heavy but with a little luck the misty air will burn off and reveal a 550 year old church village in the distance that for centuries offered a pilgrimage to Christ’s Blood. Interestingly, the name of the town and resort means Holy Blood.
