Izvorul Muresului is a small
Romanian ski resort located at the foot of the Hasmasu Mare Mountains and near the town of Gheourgiou.
There is one ski run and one lift. The village is host to a winter Snow Festival and sleigh rides are available. This is a good centre for cross country skiing on some of the local trails.
Izvorul Muresului has a good selection of guest houses and equipment rental can be found in the village. Nearby excursions include walks to the famous Black Monastery and the surrounding mountains.
