Kaprun is a small village set at the foot of the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, which offers an excellent range of pistes, including high altitude pistes with guaranteed snow. Although not as well known as its neighbour Zell Am See, Kaprun has its own unique character and a relaxed, “off the beaten track” feel to it. The village of Kaprun only has eight lifts but Kaprun’s lift pass also covers Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, which are accessible by a regular ski bus and opens up almost year round skiing.
Kaprun offers the best of both worlds – a cosy Tyrolean village, masses of skiing, lively nightlife and bucket loads of charm. Accessible by Salzburg Airport, which is serviced by many budget airlines in Europe; it is also a quick, cheep and popular weekend getaway for skiers.
