Katschberg ski resort, Austria

Katschberg is a well-maintained ski resort sitting along the border of Karnten and Salzburg provinces. This tourist destination caters to family members of all ages and offers immaculately groomed ski trails that expand over 66 kilometers.

The town of Katschberg sits along the plateau of the mountain directly above the Katschberg tunnel.  The European resort offers a wide variety of accommodations including self-service apartments with ski in and out efficiency as well as many four star hotels.  Bars, pubs and discos add spice to the nightlife in this folklore region.

Tracks/Slopes

With 66 km of ski runs, there is a trail for every level of expertise.  The longest run travels from the top of the snow fields of Aineck Mountain to the small and quaint village of St. Margarethen.  There are 16 beginner and intermediate lifts that move a total of 2,400 visitors per hour. 

Other Activities

For guests looking for something other than skiing, Katschberg offers ice skating at the square in the heart of the resort that children and families adore.  A children’s winter play land known as Katschis Kids World located on the mountain offers age appropriate slopes, small lifts, a warm and cozy pavilion and ski instructors.
