Kittelfjall in the north west of Sweden close to the Norwegian border is know as a heli-skiing area for advanced skiers and snowboarders. With a summit of 1700m and a vertical drop of 1000m, Kittelfjall is not for the faint hearted and requires skiers with prior experience and knowledge to vacation here.
There are twenty-one pistes in total, with one green run (for beginners), five red runs and a total of fifteen black runs suitable for expert skiers. There are two lifts climbing up the massive mountainside, which provide access to each of the trails. At such a high altitude and so close to the Arctic Circle, Kittelfjall has a reliable snowfall each ski season, which lasts between December till April.
In the area there are a number of places to stay, with guesthouses, hotels, lodges, chalets and bed and breakfast options, allowing you a full spectrum of choice to suit your individual needs.
