In the east of Sweden amidst magically stunning surroundings is the large ski resort known as Klappen. A haven for ski enthusiasts and beginners alike, Klappen has a little something for everyone at each ability level. There are 42 pistes, at a summit of 665m. Accessing the slopes can be achieved by using one of the eighteen surface lifts or, alternatively the chair lift, which will provide you with a vertical descent of 245m.
Klappen features cross-country skiing terrain for something out of the ordinary, as well as a number of other winter-related activities. The ski season at Klappen lasts between December till April, with a fair to reliable snowfall, however the resort has back-up in the form of snowmaking machines.
There are a number of places to stay in the area, including self-catering and catered accommodation choices, each to suit a difference in taste or budget. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants in the area in which to enjoy some downtime whilst sampling the local delicacies.
