Krasnaya Polyana is located 25km east of the Black Sea resort of Sochi and is a popular ski destiniation of President Putin. With 25km of pistes and enjoying a long ski season due to the weather Krasnaya Polyana is one of the main skiing resorts in Russia.
There are six ski lifts with a downhill vertical of 2000 metres, and snow can get up to 7 metres in depth. The best slopes are on the northern edge of the Aibiga Ridge.
For the adventurous, heli skiing is an attraction in Krasnaya Polyana enabling visitors to ski at 3200 metres.
