La Giettaz ski resort, France

A medium size resort for skiing in France, the slopes have eight ski lifts and 18 pistes. You can also snowboard and there is a national park showing the local terrain.

The area is a real mountain village with bars, restaurants and several hotels. There are ski hire shops only a few minutes walk from most of the hotels, and you can also rent furnished apartments.

The main ski area can be accessed by a free bus in only ten minutes, and three airports are within two hours of driving distance: the Geneva, Chambery and Lyon airports. There is also a train station in Albertville, and then a bus takes people directly to the town. For children ages one to six, there is child care. Also you can take snowshoe walks and other fun activities.
