Lachtal ski resort, Austria

Lachtal is Styrian’s second largest ski resort and contains some of the most beautiful slopes in the world.  Imagine glistening snow beneath your feet, shimmering blue sky and crisp mountain air and that is what you will receive when you step foot on Lachtal terrain.  The slopes provide a wide variety of terrain for even the most beginning skier.    

Accommodations

Accommodations vary from a four store hotel known as Hotel Monarchia Park to small and cozy rental huts.  Self-catered apartments and holiday houses are available for rent and provide convenient access to the slopes.  Most lodging available allows guests to ski from right outside their doorstep.

Tracks/Slopes

Seven drag lifts and one chair lift provide transport to the over 48 km of pistes ranging from easy to difficult and advanced.  Beginners can take it easy and get acquainted with the resort on 11 km of easy runs. 

 

Other Activities

A 3 km toboggan run extends through the resort and rental equipment is available on-site.  The toboggan run is flood-lit and used during nighttime hours to provide an exciting ride.  Ice skating courses, cross country ski trails, curling rinks and 5 km of winter hiking trails are also open to the outdoor enthusiast.
