Malam Jabba ski resort Pakistan

Malam Jabba is the largest ski resort in Pakistan . Located in the beautiful hill station in the Karakoram mountain range, Malam Jabba Ski resort is about 40 km from the city of Saidu Sharif in Swat Valley, Sarhad, Pakistan.

From the Islamabad International Airport, visitors can reach this ski area by taking a taxi or bus to Malam Jabba or by flying to Saidu Sharif Airport from the capital. Accommodations for skiers are available in and around the city of Saidu Sharif. Malam Jabba is owned and operated by the Pakistani Tourism Development Corporation.

This mountain has an altitude of 2804 metres (9200 ft) above sea level which is the highest point of the longest ski slope. The resort is updated with facilities such as chair lifts, skiing platforms and other necessary equipment.

Après ski activities include trekking through the Ghorband Valley and Shangla Top and also the Sabonev Valley about 17 km from the resort. Two Buddhist stupas and six Buddhist monasteries that exist near Malam Jabba are believed to be about 2000 years old and established long before the British forcefully divided the India into two. There is also a roller skating rink and an ice-skating rink for additional entertainment.

The government lost control of the ski resort when the Taliban started an offensive against it by destroying and setting fire to the equipment. Since then, the government has taken back control of this ski area is slowly transforming it back into a place of peaceful entertainment.
