Mitterbach-Gemeindealpe, or sometimes referred to as simply Gemeindealpe, is a family-friendly ski resort located in the lower Austrian province. Well groomed trails and slopes offer a fun and inviting winter holiday spent carving or skiing the slopes of some of the finest mountain terrains in all of Austria.
Accommodations
Most of the accommodations located near the resort consist of self-catering apartments and guest house rentals. A nearby youth hostel called Junges Hotel Annaberg offers students a convenient and budget friendly arrangement.
Tracks/Slopes
Although small, Gemeindealpe provides a wide range of slope difficulties including easy, medium difficulty and difficult. There are a total of 15 km pistes.
Other Activities
Aside from skiing, paragliding has become quite popular at the resort. Traveling over powdery snow drifts and mountainous terrain provides tranquil views of scenery revealed at a bird’s eye view. Ice skating facilities and curling rinks are also available.
