Mount Jefferson ski area is family owned and operated . It has 11 trails, handle tow for those new to the sport, a half pipe, 2 T-bar lift and a vertical drop of 430 feet. Rentals and lessons are also available on this site.
It prides itself for serving homemade treats in its cozy restaurant. They also have provisions for half day ticket and night skiing. Mount Jefferson does not have snowmaking so it depends on Mother Nature for its snow. Fortunately the cold temperatures and dry snow which prevails in the interior regions of Maine does not let the snow melt quickly.
Visitors from here can view the magnificent Mt. Katahdin. Skiers can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere present in the forest half-mile of Granny Trail. This trail gradually moves around the mountain. It is worth spending money on skiing here.
