Mount Olympus ski resort, Cyprus

The republic of Cyprus is a Eurasian island located in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.  Mount Olympus in located in the Troodos range of Mountains in Cyprus. Cyprus is the hottest, driest island in the Mediterranean and it enjoys 340 days of sunshine a year. Visitors come to this resort through the Larnaca International Airport. This ski area blessed with breathtaking scenery and fantastic slopes is managed by the Cypress Ski Club.

Elevation of Troodos Mountains is 1,952 metres (6500 ft). The Mount Olympus Ski resort, including Sun Valley and North Face, has four T bars and one chairlift. The T-bars include Aphrodite lift (150 metres), Hermes lift (150 metres), Zeus lift (500 metres) and Hera lift (350 metres).

There are seven runs in this ski area rated Beginner – 50%, Intermediate – 25% and Advanced – 25%. On the North Face of Mount Olympus there exists a homologated (certified for international regulations) trail with a start elevation of 1920 metres, finish elevation of 1800 metres, vertical drop of 120 metres and a total length of 370 metres.

There are two main cafeteria/lodges and ski rental is offered. Accommodations may be made at the two hotels close to the Troodos Square. There are other hotels in the surrounding villages such as Platres or Kakopetria.
