Paggaio is one of the smallest ski centres in Greece located just 42 km from Kavala and believed to be the place where Alexander the great hid his stores of gold. There are two ski runs and Paggaio has one ski lift with one baby lift .Whilst Paggaio does not have the infrastructure of other resorts in Greece there are plans to expand this centre. A small shelter in the resort can accommodate up to 90 people. Many people visit the area for the sheer natural beauty of the Valley of Orfeas. Paggaio is currently closed for the 2009 season due to a technical fault.
