Scotland, a country in the Northern part of the United Kingdom, has five main ski resorts: Glencoe, Glenshee, Nevis Range, The Lecht, and Cairngorm. All five resorts offer skiing as well as snowboarding lessons and have equipment for hire, so there is no need to bring your own gear. The Scottish ski areas are small compared to the mainstream resorts in the Alps, and snowfall is not nearly as reliable. |

Scotland is perfectly suited for last-minute trips, to be booked only when you are sure that the skiing conditions will be good. And when the skiing conditions are indeed good, you are sure to have a great time. The Scottish scenery is wonderful, there is plenty of off-piste skiing available, and the slopes cater to all levels. The town of Aviemore, very close to the Cairngorm ski resort, is a good option if you do get disappointed and have to find other activities to keep yourself busy, with a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities available. |
