Shames Mountain ski resort, Canada

Nestled between the sunny skies and breathtaking slopes of the Northwestern part of British Columbia is a small ski resort called the Shames Mountain where time seems to stand still. To get to this gem of a ski hill, visitors may continue past the town of Terrace, BC in the direction of Prince Rupert for about 20 minutes by car of bus.

This ski area is open from Wednesday through Sunday of each week. The timings are from 9:00AM – 3:30PM. The skiable terrain is in the ratio of 21% Novice, 60% Intermediate and 19% Advanced. This site has 28 trails over 141 acres of untouched wilderness and 111 acres of Natural Glades. The longest run is 4 km (2.5 miles)

The capacity of the mountain is 2100 skiers per hour using a double chair, a T-bar and a Handle Tow. With its vertical of 488 meters (1600 ft), Shames Mountain offers a majestic view of the Mountain Ranges of British Columbia. The average annual snowfall is about 1,200 cm (40 ft).

In addition to skiing Shames Mountain offers snowboarding and hiking.
