Smugglers' Notch, Jeffersonville, Vermont, USA

This is reported to being the best skiing and snowboarding place to be, in all of the eastern states of the United States. This is a year round vacation spot, which you will not want to miss and it is only thirty minutes from the international airport and that makes it so convenient.

There are over 1000 acres of trails that are accessible, with 300 of them, patrolled all the time and marked very clearly to find your way around.

If you are staying at the resort, you are in for a treat, as it is also one of the best resorts for the whole family to spend a vacation.

There is a school available for the beginners and the children in your group, with more tours for going on the mountain.

This is a great place! Madonna has incredible terrain, some of the toughest terrain that I've experienced in the east. Even under the greatest conditions, the double black diamond trails are some of the most challenging in the area.

We did not ski any other areas as we bore with anything other than double black. The Black Hole is a triple black diamond. I didn't go there but my husband did and he said it was one of the most difficult and challenging things he skied in a good long time. I highly recommend Smuggler's Notch and for expert skiers, this is a must ski. Roseann Lahey
