Swain Ski Resort may be small but it is big on charm and old fashioned friendliness. There are 60 skiable acres with 650 feet of vertical drop. The average annual snowfall is 130 inches and the resort has the ability to make snow for 97 percent of the area. The 5 lifts can move 8,400 people per hour.
There are 30 runs with the longest being 5,280 feet. Beginners can enjoy 39 percent of the trails and intermediates can use 28 percent. Advanced enthusiasts have 33 percent of the runs dedicated for their use. The terrain park will challenge all levels of freestyle skiers and riders. There is a snow tubing park that everyone will enjoy. Night skiing is available.
Lodging is available nearby and ranges from quaint bed and breakfasts to small, chain motels. Dining options are available both at the resort and in town. Après ski fun can be had on the mountain but more variety can be found in town.
