Containing the villages in eastern Switzerland of Wildhaus, Unterwasse and St. Johann; this impressive ski are climbs up from the valley at 900 meters to a towering 2260 metres. The vast amount of skiing is covered by red runs although there are some beginner’s areas half way up the mountain. The 16 lifts service a total of 60 kilometres of great mountain skiing.

Toggenburg has a massive snow park and off-piste opportunities as well as three ski schools and a couple of dedicated children’s areas. As it is only an hour’s drive from Zurich, Toggenburg can get busy at weekends. There is a wide range of hotels to choose from, although the highest rated is only three-star. For a Swiss resort is does offer value for money, both with the lift pass and in the restaurants – if you try the daily specials you won’t end up breaking the bank. |
