The US has different run classifications to other international ski area, there are no red runs here, so you will need to check their ratings. The US slope are modest compared to their European counterparts, but don’t be deterred there is plenty of good skiing to be had.
The Americans are fastidious with their ski resorts so expect very well groomed slopes, and well maintained resorts. Another highlight of American skiing is the uncrowded field and very view queues.
A lowlight though is the cost of skiing here. Lift passes are more expensive, as are lessons. The slopes close ridiculously early at about 3pm, so you need to get going early. Dining on the slopes is not a highlight in this county.
However, the ski towns are warm, friendly inexpensive places to stay. |
