The town of Clarenville is situated in the beautiful Shoal Harbour River Valley very close to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Visitors may reach this ski are via the Gander International Airport or St. John’s International Airport, both less than a 2 hour drive from the airport.
Nicknamed “Eastern Newfoundland’s Winter Playground”, White Hills Resort offers 55 acres of beautiful mountain ranges and breathtaking steeps.
The hours of operation are from 9AM to 4PM. There are nine trails rated Beginner – 40%, Intermediate – 50% and Advanced – 10%.
The base elevation is 450 ft (137 meters) and Vertical drop is 750 ft (229 meters). Annual snowfall is about 100 inches and snowmaking is about 80% here. Three lifts including 1 Tube Tow, 1 T-bar and 1 Triple chair deliver a capacity of 3,900 persons per hour.
The longest run here is 1500 ft (457 meters). Other activities include Backcountry skiing, Heli skiing and Snow-Cat skiing.
