Zillertal is known as the biggest valley in Tyrol, Austria, and is located by the Zillertal Alps on the border with Italy. The ski resort of Zillertal Arena is the largest snow area in Zillertal, with 166km of slopes available that cater to different abilities, comprising of 42km of blue runs, 114km of red runs and 10km of black runs, so it is most definitely for the intermediate to advanced skier. 51 lifts access the slopes, with a vertical drop of 1920m. The site also features a children’s and beginners ski area, with eight ski and snowboard schools. Other amenities on site include thirty-five lodges and snow bars for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes as well as a snow park and half pipe for snowboarders. Zillertal has 200km of cross-country skiing terrain as well as four permanent racetracks. The ski season runs between December till April with a reliable snowfall between this time.
